Dr. Ahmad Al-Raqqad is the founder and president of Nardone Medical Associates. He is a graduate of The Brown Medical School Internal Medicine Program, where he also served as the chief medical resident in 2002. He has been a faculty member of the Brown Medical School since 2002 and a winner of the Dean’s Teaching Award. He is the Medical Director of Summit and Waterview Villa Rehabilitation and Nursing Homes. He is passionate about Primary Care and Internal Medicine, highly trusted by the medical society and colleagues, and on the top referral list by other doctors in the Pawtucket/ Providence area. Amber Gul MD, completed medical school in Pakistan and is a graduate of the Brown University Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Gul is a Board Certified physician in Internal Medicine and provides Primary Care services to adults (18 and older) at Nardone Medical Associates, where she has been on staff since July of 2008. Dr. Gul is particularly interested in Women’s Health and caring for the Geriatric population. She is the Medical Director at Bethany Home of Rhode Island, a Nursing and Rehabilitation center. She is also the Assistant Medical Director at Summit Commons and Waterview Villa skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers. Dr. Gul is currently accepting new patients.
Dr. Elhamamsy, a graduate of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Alpert Medical School, is a primary care physician and Medical Director of Oak Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Elhamamsy has been recognized for his dedication to teaching. He is certified by the American Board of Medical Quality, and is enrolled in the MBA Program at the University of Massachusetts. His interests include the promotion of General Internal Medicine as a career choice, transitional care, and care of the elderly.
Maya Karam PA-C, is a newly graduated Physician Assistant from Fall River, MA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Stonehill College in 2012, and then continued on to receive her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2014 at MCPHS University in Worcester, MA. Her area of focus is primary care. She is a hard-working, devoted, compassionate, and highly personable young professional with a deep passion to help others. She takes great pride in her performance as a professional and is committed to working hard to provide patients with the most advanced and effective care possible. In 2012, she went on a Medical Mission trip to Haiti to help the underserved population, and hopes to continue to do mission trips yearly in the future. Nardone Medical is fortunate to Maya as part of our medical team.

Dr. Ambreen Ijaz MD, joined our clinic in August 2014. She is actively seeing new patients with any underlying blood abnormality and cancer diagnoses. Dr. Ijaz graduated from Brown University in 2008, completing her internal medicine residency. Following this she was at Tufts University completing her Hematology Oncology fellowship in 2011. She has been in practice since. Dr. Ijaz is triple board certified and proficiently delivers treatment to patients with cancer diagnoses and blood abnormalities. She also takes great interest in blood clots, women’s oncology care, and palliative care. Her patients describe her to be compassionate, detail oriented and approachable. She takes great pride in delivering state of the art care with passion to her patients whom she declares of her extended family! We are proud to have her on board.
Noreen Shaffi is a Psychotherapist who believes your “Profession should be your Passion.” Noreen graduated from Barry University in Florida. Upon her graduation, she worked and taught in several countries. She is well versed with the Asian, Middle Eastern and Western Culture. Noreen specializes in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and mood disorders. Noreen utilizes a multi-dimensional approach to manage the biological, psychological and social issues of each client in order to create a “whole person” which is more than the sum of its’ parts.
Sandra Mota RN,CDOE, Nurse Case Manager. Sandra graduated from Rhode Island College with a Dual Degree in Psychology and Justice Studies in 2005 and shortly thereafter returned to nursing school where she obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing while simultaneously completing her Six Sigma Black Belt Certification at Bryant University . She is also a Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educator for the State of Rhode Island and plays a pivotal role under the guidance of Nardone Medicals’s team of physicians in helping Diabetic patients achieve therapeutic and lifestyle goals . She is currently working on obtaining her Certified Case Manager (CCM) . Sandra is dedicated to patient centered care , as well as improving clinical quality outcomes and was instrumental in the achievement of Nardone Medical’s NCQA Level III PCMH Recognition.
Nancy Latendresse, Practice Manager
Nancy has worked in healthcare for the past twenty-three years.
She has been employed with Nardone Medical Associates since its inception in 2002. In 2004, Nancy was appointed as Practice Manager and currently continues in that role. Her experience and knowledge of the
healthcare industry makes her a valued part of the Nardone Medical team.
Nancy was instrumental in the achievement of Nardone Medical’s NCQA Level III PCMH Recognition and she is committed to continuous quality improvement of Nardone Medical.
